Señor Director
Este sábado falleció el último de cuatro reos de Punta Peuco que en diciembre de 2016 solicitaron a la presidenta Bachelet indulto por razones humanitarias por tratarse de enfermos terminales. En abril de 2017 hace un año, se les negó el indulto considerando que según los informes del Servicio Médico Legal, El “solicitante no tiene problema médicos graves que le impidan continuar con su actual condición”
Si los solicitantes tuvieron menos de un año de sobrevida cabe preguntarse si fue exageración pedir el indulto argumentando enfermedad terminal. La realidad indica que la causal esgrimida era cierta y por tanto el Servicio Médico Legal debiera responder si al emitir los informes hubo una falta de idoneidad profesional al no reconocer la gravedad de los casos o más grave aún falta de ética al emitir un informe desconociendo deliberadamente los antecedentes médicos aportados y el estado de salud de los pacientes.

Con consternación hemos leído en la prensa de hoy domingo que falleció el último de cuatro presos de Punta Peuco, que habiendo solicitado indulto presidencial por padecer una enfermedad terminal, les fue negado en abril de 2017. No deja de llamar la intensión el doble estándar de la señora Bachelet, por cuanto ella conocía de primera fuente el caso del jerarca de Alemania Oriental Erich Honecker, que no fue juzgado en Alemania por padecer un cáncer terminal y paso sus últimos años de sobrevida en Chile en compañía de su esposa y ella no tuvo la cesibilidad para en un gesto humanitario permitir que cuatro compatriotas pasarán los últimos meses de vida junto a su familia y no en un centro de detención donde en medio de sus dolencia eran atendidos por otros reclusos. Se podrá argumentar que en el caso de Honecker no fue juzgado, pero las razones humanitarias son tan válidas para unos y otros y si en Chile se aplicara la doctrina alemana muchos de los acianos con más de 80 años de edad que padecen graves dolencias medica evidentes, seguramente no habrían llegado a Punta Peuco.
